The Questacon Invention Conventions are multi-day workshops for 14-18 year olds, where you can work with mentor makers from Questacon and innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs from around Australia, to turn your ideas into reality.
NATIONAL QUESTACON INVENTION CONVENTION
The National Invention Convention is an all-expenses paid, five day workshop in Canberra, held every January. This program gives 25 delegates aged 14-18 from all around Australia the opportunity to play, make and create with us, designing and developing a prototype that relates to a theme we give them.
Make use of workshop tools and materials, work with local mentors and entrepreneurs, and, forge friendships that last a lifetime.
The National Invention Convention is open to 14-18 year olds attending an Australian secondary school. Please note that if you’ve already participated in a National Invention Convention then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply. If you’ve done a Regional Invention Convention feel free to apply!
If you’re interested in applying for the 2020 National Invention Convention, you can register your interest and you’ll be the first to hear when applications open.
REGIONAL QUESTACON INVENTION CONVENTION
The regional Invention Convention is a free, three day workshop that lets you explore design, technology and innovation with other young innovators. Use any of the tools and materials provided, from robotics and electronics to hot glue and pop sticks, to help you build and prototype your ideas to themed challenges.
The regional Invention Convention is open to 14-18 year olds attending an Australian secondary school. In 2019 we are coming to Mildura VIC, Albury NSW, and Gladstone QLD.
