10 benefits of meditation

There have been countless articles about meditation, what it is and why you should do it.

Generally, it’s touted as being a great way to combat stress, but it seems that there are plenty more benefits to it than that.

  1. It could improve your self control
  2. Help you become more compassionate
  3. Develops your brain, specifically in areas associated with learning and memory
  4. Reduces sensitivity to pain
  5. Helps your brain process information faster
  6. Improves creative problem solving skills
  7. Helps you concentrate better and for longer periods
  8. Facilitates multi-tasking
  9. Reduces anxiety
  10. Combats depression

With all that in mind, plus the fact it won’t cost you anything, it seems like there’s really no reason not to give it a shot.

Why not set yourself an 8 weeks challenge (apparently that’s how long it can take to notice some of the physiological changes).
