For women who are looking to enter the defence force, but require additional support and development with fitness, confidence, and resilience, there is an alternative pathway.
You can apply to join the Female Initial Training Preparation (FIT Prep), which will help get you to the fitness levels required to undertake recruit training. This enlistment pathway has been developed for female candidates over the age of 18, seeking general entry full-time roles.
FIT Prep is a seven week course that guides you through fitness activities and basic army skills, and helps to strengthen your confidence, mental resilience and independence.
It is run at the Army Recruit Training Centre in Kapooka on these upcoming dates:
- 25 Jun – 12 Aug 19
- 23 Jul – 09 Sep 19
- 27 Aug – 14 Oct 19
- 24 Sep – 04 Nov 19
