Tips for raising calmer teens

With the rising number of mental health concerns amongst children and teens, this article seeks to address some of the possible causes.

It talks about how the increase in technology, means our teens now connect with and compare themselves to more people than ever before. It also goes on to explain how those comparisons are often against unrealistic and often unachievable versions of a “virtual” person.

There are also some suggestions on how parents could help their teen, including focusing on effort and learning, rather than outcomes. Limiting time on devices and social media. Normalising difficulty, discomfort, and mistakes.
