The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) provide a range of community services, encouraging people to consider a career as a firefighter is just one of those.
They present a variety of information including:
- the role of the MFS in the community
- the responsibilities of a firefighter
- types of incidents the MFS attends
- MFS shift structure
- training and education, and
- the recruitment process.
The MFS is an equal opportunities employer, so everyone including women and those from diverse backgrounds, are encouraged to attend information sessions and apply for positions.
MFS Career Information Sessions are targeted to those aged 15 years and above. They could be suitable for community groups, high schools, sporting clubs and career expos. Career information sessions are FREE, but some presentations require in-house audio visual equipment.
