TAFE WA’s automation courses are designed to target both current workers as well as secondary students (future workers).
The courses have become available thanks to a collaboration between the Government and Rio Tinto.
Rio Tinto are world leaders in automation, with the adoption of autonomous trains, trucks and drills.
The Certificate II in Autonomous Workplace Operations will be piloted as a VET course at Cecil Andrews College, Gilmore College, Baldivis Secondary College and Karratha Senior High School.
A micro-credential course “Working Effectively in an Automation Workplace” is planned to be offered to current workers and apprentices. (Micro-credential courses are a new, affordable and quick way to sharpen skills and knowledge with relevant, targeted training).
Allegedly a Certificate IV in Remote Centre Operations is also under development, watch this space.
