Wanting to study law at university but didn’t get the ATAR you wanted? Been away from study for a while and looking to jump back in? Murdoch has a variety of pathways you can take to start the course of your dreams.
For students who have recently finished high school, you usually need a minimum ATAR of 90 to be considered for any of the law courses at Murdoch. However, you can also apply through their LAW START pathway.
LAW START takes into consideration your results in specific subjects, rather than your overall ATAR. These subjects need to have a focus on communication and essay writing, e.g. English, English Literature, Modern History, Politics or Legal Studies.
You will participate in a one-day workshop and complete a written assessment on the day. Success here guarantees you a formal offer for a place at Murdoch Law.

Pre-Law Alternative Entry Course
If you haven’t studied for over 12 months, you can also consider Murdoch’s Pre-Law Alternative Entry Course. This is an intensive program that, upon successful completion, guarantees a place in Murdoch’s Law degree. The course runs over each semester.
Murdoch also offers a scholarship to cover the fee for the Pre-Law Alternative Entry Course. You can view the scholarship and apply here.
