For anyone in Year 12, term 4 is going to be a big deal. You’ve been working hard towards this moment for a long time, and understandably you’d like to walk away from high school with the best ATAR (or OP) that you can.
A recent article from The Age highlights a few really important things to remember though:
- Don’t burn yourself out in the pursuit of the ultimate ATAR – sure keep studying hard, do your revision and absolutely try your best.
- If you’ve chosen and applied for a degree or other course purely because of the high ATAR required to get in, maybe now is the time to rethink that choice.
- It’s not too late to change your preferences and opt for a course that may have a lower ATAR but is actually something you want to study.
- If you haven’t already, it’s probably a really good time to start reading up on and implementing some good study tips.
- Get plenty of sleep.
It’s a great read from Brandon Jack based on his own Year 12 experience, you can read the full article here.
