The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Secondary Schools Cadet Program gives Year 9 and 10 students with an opportunity to learn about fire safety and prevention, develop practical life skills, and get an appreciation of community service and volunteerism.
If you’re interested in a career in the fire service, this program offers the chance to take a more in depth look at what’s involved, as well as speaking with fire fighters about their careers and what the job requires.
You don’t have to be thinking about a career in the fire service to sign up. Completing the program could develop your leadership and team working abilities, teach you how to react in emergency situations and will look great on your resume.
To sign up for the 10 week Secondary Schools Cadet Program, your school will need to register to run the program.
The Secondary Schools Cadet Program can be linked to NSW Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) Years 7-10 Syllabus.
