Securing a scholarship could help you meet some of the costs associated with getting a university degree or other tertiary qualification.
There’s a common misconception that scholarships are only available for a few people. That might have been the case in the distant past, but not anymore. There are literally thousands of scholarships out there, waiting for someone – just like you – to apply for them.
Sure some scholarships are only open to high academic achievers, but other categories include:
- Sporting or Performing Ability
- All-round Achievement
- Community Service
- Financial Hardship
- Disturbance/upheaval at school
- Remote & Regional Students
- Female Students
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Refugee Status
- Subject specific
Unlike loans scholarships don’t require any repayment, so you’ve really got nothing to lose by applying.
Always remember to check the small print and check that you meet the eligibility requirements before you start an application.
We’ve put together lots more information about scholarships, how to apply, and links to scholarships in each state in our Scholarships Guide for 2020 – you can DOWNLOAD IT NOW.
