Making a Meaningful Career

It can be hard to try and decide what you want to do with the rest of your life before you’ve even finished school.

Thankfully, the culture around work is rapidly changing, with people having more jobs in their lifetime than ever.

There is a stronger focus on job satisfaction and personal fulfillment, rather than just making lots of money.

Eva Chan, manager of the Careers Center at UNSW, says the most important thing to do when thinking about a career is “stepping back and thinking about ourselves to start with. This is really very important.”

As your life changes, so will your interests and priorities – and it’s okay if that means you want a change in career as well.

So don’t worry if you don’t have things sorted out just yet. There is always plenty of opportunity for you to go back and change your mind.
