The Future of Medicine at University of Melbourne

There will be some big changes coming to the University of Melbourne’s Doctor of Medicine in 2022.

Core units will be available to study online, giving you greater flexibility. Clinical placements will start in the first year of the degree, meaning you get more practical, hands-on training. You can customise your degree with discovery subjects, which you can use to gain a deeper understanding of a medical subject, or branch out into another topic such as engineering or law.

They will also be removing prerequisite subjects for entry to the degree, meaning you can gain entry from any field of study, not just health or sciences.
