Top 5 reasons to attend Macquarie’s 2020 Open Day Streamed

Written by Nidhi Chowkira (Bachelor of Laws with Bachelor of Arts) and Jessie Peake (Bachelor of Laws with Bachelor of Psychology)

Macquarie’s Open Day is fast approaching, and things are looking a bit different this year. We’ve organised a completely online, live-streamed Open Day on Saturday 15 August, 2020.

Here are our top 5 reasons on why you should attend Macquarie’s Open Day Streamed:

Get the real deal from current students

What’s the best part about an Open Day? Being able to talk to actual students studying the degree you want to do, to get both a wholistic perspective on what the course is like but also an insight into the various units that you may take. At Open Day Streamed, we have our wonderful Student Ambassadors, who are all current Macquarie students, on hand, ready to answer all the questions you may have about any course. Plus, we’ll both be coming to you live from Studio Central from 10am – 5pm.

Participate in cool activities

Open Day is usually a vibrant on-campus experience. Open Day Streamed will be no different, bringing our campus to life virtually with online activities, presentations, interviews and talks with academics. You’ll also have the chance to win some cool prizes. Make sure you follow us on all our socials to keep up to date on everything going on during Open Day Streamed.

Hear from our expert academics

At Macquarie, we pride ourselves on providing a first-class education to all our students, ranking us in the top 1% of universities worldwide.  At Open Day Streamed, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from our esteemed academics across all fields of study about how we work closely with industry and integrate practical experience in all our courses. Interviews with our experts, the opportunity for live Q&A and the ability to watch on-demand videos means you can access the info you need at your leisure, from the comfort of your own home.

Get a feel for the campus from the couch

We’re not letting the current situation stop us from bringing our amazing campus, services and facilities to all of you to experience! We want to offer you a taste of all the great things that make up Macquarie’s 126 hectares of open land and state-of-the-art facilities. Open Day Streamed will take you on a journey through Macquarie with virtual campus tours and snapshots of life as a university student.

Make an informed choice about your future

Macquarie is leading the way with reimagining Open Day as a virtual event. Fourteen studios covering different areas of study will provide you with an insight into what life on campus is like, and give you all you need to make an informed choice about your university choices. Our production team will be filming our student ambassadors and academics doing what they love most so that you can experience all we have to offer without leaving home!

Whether you’re a high-school student, a current uni student thinking of transferring over to Macquarie or someone interested in postgraduate study, Macquarie’s Open Day Streamed will have something for you. So, clear your day, get comfy and log in on Saturday 15th August. We can’t wait to see you and share everything we love about Macquarie with you.
