Graduating High School in Remote NT

For the first time in 13 years, a small community in the Northern Territory has celebrated as high school students graduate.

Thanks to the support of teachers, family and community, Wadeye’s Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr College hosted a ceremony for the graduating students, showing that there are pathways into the future in even some of the most remote towns and communities.

Three of the graduating students have already secured jobs, becoming teacher’s aides and mentors for the next generation of kids in Wadeye.

The community is now looking forward to having graduations every year.
