Connecting civics and citizenship education to the lives of students can be tricky, especially when dealing with issues that can be tricky, controversial or challenging.
This teaching guide, Challenging Conversations, provides some discussion and debate strategies to help students critically engage with the topics and explore a range of perspectives and points of view. It also includes how these strategies connect to some of the Parliamentary Standing Orders, and how to use these in the classroom to model parliamentary debates.
