About you
The transport industry is widely varied, but it’s all centred around being service based. Workers with people skills, organisational ability and an interest in vehicles and infrastructure can readily find work as long as they’re suitably qualified.
Due to the nature of the work involved, many roles require specific licensing (forklifts & crane tickets, locomotive driver license, maritime certifications etc) but these aren’t hard to attain if you’re driven.
Flexibility
Be prepared to change plans at short notice, and adjust to new tools, vehicles, and work environments
Strong Organisational Skills
You'll need to keep track of what needs moving and when, to make sure things end up in the right place
Problem Solving Skills
You and your team will need to solve problems on a regular basis, plus you'll need to be able to communicate about your solutions
