Be part of an innovative industry that's full of potential
Once a small part of a business (and our lives), technology, computing and communications are now more important than ever before. By training in IT, networking and communications, you’ll be in demand the world over.
You could find yourself working on new technologies that will transform life as we know it, search for high-tech solutions to protect our environment, help others learn and use cutting edge tech, or be at the forefront of data analysis.
Create communication networks
Develop sites and create software
Work with others to connect remotely
The technology sector has been growing steadily for many years thanks to booms in cloud services, internet telephony (VoIP) and the computerisation of everything we touch.
With skills in this area, you’ll be able to find work here in Australia or overseas, and be paid well for doing it. This is especially the case with software developers, as many of the services we take for granted are designed and engineered by people with these skills.

Skills and Attributes
Above all else, the industry relies on people who have critical thinking skills. Whether it’s designing code to do a particular task, or creating a solution to a networking problem, the ability to think creatively is key. Attention to detail is also an important attribute, as the tiniest error can stop a system from working (and cause significant issues, especially in service industries).
You’ll also need to be able to conceptually understand things quickly. Often in IT you have to ‘map’ out a solution in your head so that you can work back to the starting point. With an understanding of different technologies and how they can work together, you’ll be able to create incredible things – the possibilities are only limited by you.
