UniSA PhD researcher Chloe Cannell is running a series of five 2 hour writing workshops exploring the challenges of representing LGBTQIA+ characters and stories in fiction for young adults.
Young LGBTQIA+ people aged 18-25 are invited to participate in a research project on writing in allyship with LGBTQIA+ youth on the challenges of representing young adult fiction featuring intersectional LGBTQIA+ characters and stories. The workshops aim to develop writing strategies for telling those stories.
Participation in this study will involve:
- Five 2-hour workshops (totalling 10 hours);
- Following individual and group writing exercises;
- Responding to short anonymous questionnaires;
- Sharing/reading/discussing writing examples with a small peer group of up to 13 people.

The workshops are on Zoom Saturdays, 10am-12pm ACST April to May 2021 on the following dates: 10/04, 17/04, 1/05, 8/05 & 15/05.
