Learn the fundamentals of hand-forging over four evenings in October. Informed by discussions on design, technique and practical procedures, you will work through a series of projects. You will also learn about forges, how to navigate an anvil and all the wonderful tools that fit into the blacksmith’s repertoire. The essential foundation skills you learn here will prepare you for moving on to other workshops such as Intro II: Contemporary blacksmithing, toolmaking, basic knife making, and other specialised design-build courses.
