Victoria Police Work Experience Program

The Victoria Police Work Experience Program provides a fantastic opportunity for high school students considering a career within Victoria Police.

Students are placed at participating police stations and divisions where they will have the opportunity to observe and learn from our police officers, Protective Services Officers, Protective Custody Officers and Victorian Public Service (VPS) personnel.

Students must be a minimum of 15 years of age at the time of placement and completing Year 10 or above. Placements are only offered to those students studying Year 10, 11 or 12.

  • are available from March until November each year.
  • take place for one week only (five consecutive business days).
  • cannot be scheduled during a week that contains a public holiday.
  • intakes are run via a ballot process, the first intake is for Term 1-2, then the second intake is for Term 3-4.

Placements outside these times will not be arranged.

Registrations are to be submitted by careers teachers only. Careers teachers registered for the program will receive a survey for an intake and register their school, not nominating a student at this stage.
