Wilmar Sugar 2023 Apprenticeship Program

An apprenticeship with Wilmar is more than just a job – it’s a life-long education, and the start of a diverse and rewarding career. You’ll enjoy hands-on training, a variety of tasks and challenging work in a busy industrial environment.

Our apprenticeship program runs for four years and combines both theory (off-the-job) and practical (on-the-job) education. You’ll study the theoretical side of your apprenticeship at a Registered Training Organisation, such as a TAFE, and complete the practical side in our sugar mills or ethanol distillery.

These apprenticeships will commence in December 2022 and available disciplines include:

  • Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician
  • Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication trade (Boilermaker)
  • Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical trade (Fitter & Turner)
  • Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical trade (Diesel Fitter)

Apprenticeship locations:

  • Herbert Region – Victoria and Macknade Mills
  • Burdekin Region – Inkerman, Invicta, Kalamia and Pioneer Mills
  • Mackay Region – Proserpine Mill, Plane Creek Mill, Sarina Distillery
