CIT GEOCON Women in Building and Construction Scholarship

GEOCON would like to offer a scholarship in the Certificate IV in Building and Construction or the Diploma of Building and Construction to an aspiring female CIT student in 2022.

The aim of this initiative is to promote and encourage women joining the construction industry and create a pathway for ambitious females to obtain a formal qualification in building and construction. GEOCON is offering one fully paid scholarship, being a total of four semesters in one course for the respective person.

The scholarship will award the recipient cover the cost of their student fees. These will be reimbursed following a satisfactory result in

The scholarship comes with option of work placement training in either construction or work health and safety during the second year of study (subject to satisfactory interview). GEOCON is offering one scholarship for a two-year period.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • A female person 17 years of age or older
  • either employed in, or seeking employment in, the building and construction industry intending to enrol in a Certificate IV or Diploma of Building qualification
  • able to meet the entry criteria for the nominated qualification living and/or working in the ACT
  • committed to complete the nominated qualification at CIT withing 3 years of commencement of the qualification
  • eligible to attend the relevant classes at CIT Bruce in accordance with timetable
